This community based project engaged Debajehmujig Arts Animators to create a custom show that would raise community based awareness around issues of AIDS and HIV transmission. The group was then asked to conduct a workshop that would demonstrate the extent to which the audience had penetrated the material.

The Gift is an original play/story that explores the role of the Anishinaabeg Storyteller in contemporary society. Balancing the responsibility of upholding traditional teachings while freeing the creative spirit to explore new ideas and concepts is challenging and ongoing task of the storyteller.

The Red Lake Heritage Centre is thrilled to announce that De-ba-jeh-mu-jig Theatre Group will be a major participant in the Red Lake Woodland Arts Festival. The primary goal of the Woodland Arts Festival is to instil pride in Red Lake's Aboriginal culture and history, and to involve and engage our youth in this event.
